The Parish Memorial Centre (Hall) was recently severely damaged by termites. The damage was so severe that Engineers declared portion of the hall unsafe and forbade access to this area.
The Parish Council examined its options for restoration and set about reversing the damage to the Hall as it is a central part of Parish life.
We were fortunate to encounter many generous benefactors:
- The Gambling Community Benefit Fund allocated us a grant of $33,000 towards the restoration appeal.
- Stewart Blaikie of Rockwood Renovations successfully quoted for the work and exceeded all reasonable expectations in repairing the damaged area.
- Many generous parishioners have donated to the appeal for funds.

On Saturday 5th February 2005, the Parish hosted an afternoon tea to acknowledge the contributions of our benefactors. Reverend Sandra introduced our guest speaker, The Reverend Canon Gary Fagg, Area Dean of Brisbane NE who spoke on the achievement of the Hall restoration and acknowledged the contributions of all present.

Reverend Sandra gratefully acknowledged the workmanship of Stewart Blaikie and his team of workers who not only completed the contracted work but assisted with many other small items requiring attention.

The cake and other refreshments were enjoyed by all attending.
