Natural Church Development Celebration Lutwyche
As a highlight, in what has been a year of growth and development during 2011 at St Andrews Lutwyche, eleven candidates were presented to Bishop Jonathan Holland at the Parish Confirmation Service on 4 December. A number of parishioners undertook the commitment to support and partner candidates who were preparing for Confirmation, Reception into Communicant Membership of the Anglican Church of Australia and Renewal of Baptism Vows.
“The Rt Rev’d Dr Jonathan Holland received the candidates and inspired us all with his message in regard to our call to discipleship both as individuals and as a community. The Parish has been committed to engaging in the Natural Church Development project for the past two years and the Confirmation Service was an exciting way for us to celebrate the results of our second NCD Survey. We rejoiced that our November 2011 NCD survey showed an improvement of 25.1 points over the first Survey undertaken in June 2010. ” said Rev’d Sandra Kjellgren, Rector of St Andrews. “It was a great joy to see so many family and friends of candidates supporting and encouraging them in this important step along their spiritual journey” said Rev’d Sandra.
Following the service a celebration morning tea was shared by all with a beautifully decorated Confirmation Cake make by Andrea Smith that listed all the candidate’s names.
